    Overseer

    Oil On Canvas

    Little Bird, upon the wire

Your tone has me believing you’re mocking me

Could it be? I’d always imagined

    Our winged friends were literally

    Above such things, such behaviors

But here you are squawking away

And if I didn’t know better, gawking.

    Hey-Hawking,

and dare I say in your own way

Laughing at the goings on below.

I shouldn’t say this, they have names, I just don’t bother to commit them to memory.

These here are the understudies of my time.

    Sometimes You Lose

    Oil on Canvas

If we were in a club
In the darkness of a bar
    With this proximity

    If the answer is no…

    If I go over
    what I did enough times
Laugh it out the way you did
    As if my feelings were
    in of themselves
    a joke to be had

If I wish you away in my mind
Think of anything but your touch
    The sweet one where
    you rumble deep
    Memories
    Please fade away

You buried your face beneath your hands the first time
    I walked into your place
    Embarrassed by its state
as if it wasn’t a fact of your existence
Testimony to your state of pause

    I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!

    Apologies in fast succession

    OCD triplets Im familiar

I play back the hours that we share the same space

I smell the instability in the air.

Faint but present under cigarettes and old spice

    Familiar like family

    Eager to enter

Beneath the banter (sweet and constant)

Slowly you pace the apartment searching for a plug you’d lost the year before.

Wasting time because it seems to be your comfort zone.

I lay back and patiently wait for you to do the same.

    But you continue to delay.

    Unsettled.

    Living
    the days out
    With understudies
    The original cast
    They came and went
    Slipped through my fingers
    At an unexpected speed

    Life is a blur
    I want to touch her
    Live for the moment

    Life’s like water
    Flowed to the border
    And Then poured over

If life’s gonna move at this speed
    Please run with me
    let me feed
If life’s gonna be this way
Who knows if I’ve gotta another day

    Life is a blur
    I want to touch her
    Live for the moment

    Life’s like water
    Flowed to the border
    And Then poured over

    Its a strange place
    No mans land
    To each their own
    Pls Don’t leave me alone

    New rules each day
    Makes no difference
Since I’ve got no point of reference

    The Devil You Know

    Oil on Canvas

This ain’t nothing new, not to me and maybe not to you.

Did you ever sleep with one eye open
Waiting on the change of mood
Waiting to see what would ensue
    Another statistic how pathetic
just start a new life go and get it
    Doesn’t quite work that way
Wake up with a brand new day
    Opportunity take me away
Cept it don’t , not today anyway

A story as old as time
    Cept this one is mine

He gave me the gift of the sweetest smiles
In two sweet little babies all the while
doing his dirty steeped in the dark side
Snippets of secrets escaped from where he tried to hide
You’re all to blame ,Didn’t see the signs
His gift to me let me stay alive

A story as old as time
    ‘cept this one is mine

    There once was a house
    Upon a hill
    To get there...

    There was a pink path

    And a purple path

There was a long and winding path

And a short but bumpy one

And one that had many colors along the way

all the paths lead to the same house

    And inside lived love

    And outside lived growth

    Judgement

You look at me, but I don’t get the same pleasure.

My eyes look to the wall, gazing low, as instructed.

You look deep at me, and all my imperfections.

    I dream of perfection.

But perfection only comes from a far-off distance,

There we can all be warm and fuzzy.

There we are whatever we want each other to be.

In my mind, I look at you.

You tell me to look away.

But you can’t tell my imagination to do so.

There, much like the far-off distance, I can imagine you anyway I like.

Tomorrow maybe you will be warm and fuzzy, sweet and serene.

    Today you are a monster.

I hold still and wait for the inspection to be over.

I am a statue, and you are an eager art student.

Gazing over every inch, every bruise, every mark.

Your apology means nothing, not to yourself nor to me.

Just doing your job, a pathetic excuse.

Tomorrow, perhaps I will be the captor looking over every inch of you, judging.

Today though, today I am the one wishing to disappear.

The particles enveloping every inch of the here and now
    Without being here, nor now
    Here and Now.
